Rescue and Rehome

This lane is for the harder, kinder questions: should this household take the bird, what needs to happen first, and how do you lower harm during the first days instead of pushing instant bonding or instant confidence.

Core Rescue Principle

Rescue-minded does not mean taking every bird. It means choosing with enough honesty that the next move does not become another fast rehome, another preventable mismatch, or another crisis for a bird already carrying stress.

What A Better Rehome Path Usually Includes

Low-pressure intake Quiet room, stable sleep, safe air, simple food continuity, and as little social chaos as possible.
Real records if available Vet notes, diet history, old cage info, behavioral triggers, and any known bite or feather history.
Permission to pause A household should be able to say not yet or not this bird without feeling cruel.
Clear next-step planning Carrier, avian-vet path, quarantine space if needed, and a first-week routine should exist before the bird arrives.
