Day 1
Reduce surprises
Limit visitors, pet curiosity, loud media, and repeated cage approaches.
Make food and water obvious
Keep placement simple so the bird does not have to solve the cage before it can settle.
Start a baseline
Note droppings, posture, appetite, sound, and any breathing concerns.
Days 2 To 4
Routine
Keep the day predictable
Stable wake, feed, quiet, and sleep windows usually help more than extra "fun" does.
Handling
Invite, do not insist
Let the bird watch, choose, and adjust before turning every interaction into a test.
Observation
Watch for drift
A bird that stops eating well, changes droppings, or stays puffed and quiet may need faster action.
Days 5 To 7
- Begin gentle routine-building, not performance expectations.
- Add one new change at a time if food or environment needs to improve.
- Keep sleep and room calm consistent even if the bird starts acting brighter.
- Use trust-building moments, not pressure, to start the relationship.
